dc.description.abstract Taken from Neville's translation of Machievelli's Works (1675) and previously published separately as: The publisher or translator of Nicholas Machiavels whole works ... concerning the following letter of Nicholas Machiavels, wherein he clears himself of the aspersions alleg'd by some on his writings. 1688. "The letter is suppositious; it was probably written by Henry Nevile"--Cf. BM. Letter written to Messieur Zenobio and dated: 1st of April 1537.
