dc.description.abstract | Sometimes attributed to John Digby, Earl of Bristol, and to George Villiers, Duke of Buckingham. Gathering A, B outer forme, and part of E inner forme are in two settings which occur in various combinations, sometimes mixed with STC 5032 (though the first readings below tend to appear in STC 5031). Title page (1) lacks the words "Published by authority", or (2) has "Published by authority" (copies with latter reading should be matched to STC 5032); A3r lines 1-2 have (1) "the #5FD\ ninth" or (2) "the se- #5FD\ uenth"; A3v line 7 has (1) "Bristowes" or (2) "Bristolls"; B2v has (1) "Equipage" or (2) "equipage"; E4r line 11 has (1) "hee had" or (2) "he had". Most of the other formes appear in two impositions. Reproduction of the original in the Henry E. Huntington Library and Art Gallery. |
