Antaŭparolo al la reta versio Estante 23-jarulo, mi verkis en septembro 1989 malgrandan Esperanto-romanon. Mi dissendis ĝin al kelkaj konataj esperantistoj kaj Esperanto-eldonejoj kaj ricevis abundon da afablaj reagoj. Herbert Mayer, la estro de la tiutempe ankoraŭ sufiĉe nova eldonejo "Pro Esperanto", deklaris sin preta eldoni la verkon, tamen preferante ŝanĝi ĝian originan titolon "Inter aliuloj" al "Fajron sentas mi interne". La libro aperis en aŭgusto 1990 kaj tuj trovis sufiĉe grandan resonon inter la esperantistaro, pri kio atestas ankaŭ recenzoj en ĉirkaŭ 10 Esperanto-gazetoj (i.a. Esperanto, La Gazeto, Bulgara Esperantisto, Koncize, La eta gazeto, Hungara Vivo, Esperanto in Baden-Wuerttemberg). Eltiraĵoj aperis en Kontakto kaj la legolibro "Ek al leg'". La aŭtoron atingis pluraj centoj da opiniesprimoj de legantoj el pli ol 20 landoj. Tamen intertempe la romaneto certagrade forgesiĝis kaj malbone vendiĝas.
