In the Old-baily, next door to the sign of the Black-Bull, is a Sweating-house for eighteen pence a time; where both Men and Women may be very well Accomodated at convenient Seasons. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays for Men; Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays for Women.
SWeating is as useful as Bathing; it eases pains in the Limbs, opens the Pores of the Body, evacuates superfluous Humors, cleanses the Bloud, prevents and cures the Scorvy, gives great Ease in the Gout, takes off Sciatica's, and is most excellent in expelling those infectious and venomous humors in all Venerial Distempers; and lastly, it makes the Patient vigorous and active by fortifying the Spirits, Animal, Vital, and Natural. And 'tis the best Antidote in the World against all contagious Distempers.
In the same House there is a Bath for such as desire it, upon timely notice given, and this shall be most artificially composed, according as the necessity of the Patients Distemper requires; Baths are of most excellent use in Palsies, Sciatica's, Numbness, Hardness and Contractions of the Nerves, Morphew, Scorvey, old Sores, Tumors, old Pains, Diseases of the Joints, Liver, Spleen, Leprosy, &c.
Probatum bonum.
