A Caveat to the Vnwary:

With all her Venerial Train, as also her several Disguises and various Shape [...] and Forms laid open, after a Pretended Cure by Quac [...] [...] Tyranny against the Health of Mankind is pu [...]ed [...] [...]ally destroyed, by those Infallable Antiv [...] [...] Clark, lately residing in the Strand, who w [...] one of the Chief Physicians to King Charles I. and whose singular Skill, not only in the Cure of all Venereal Maladies, but a so in all other Diseases incident to Humane Bodies, his admirable Success having rendred him most Famous.
HIS Son T. Clark, M. D. having practised by the same Methods and Medicines Forty Years, and with the like most happy Success his Father did, without ever giving out Bills, till now; but seeing daily the male Practise, and direful Effects, and how many dye Martyrs to Venus by Pretenders, and how many more are in Danger of Spoil and Ruin by them, he has therefore thought himself obliged, in Charity and Compassion to give this Bill as a Precaution, in order to prevent so much as may be future Evils by such Medicastors, who amuse and impose on the Patient; for how many pretend to cure a CLAP, with the worst of Symptoms, in 24 Hours, only by Externals, without the least Medicine inwardly; others by ill tempered Mercurial Medicines, which too often precipitates the Miasm of a Simple [Page]CLAP, Gonorrhaea or Running of the Reins into a Grand POX; And others by palliating, stopping Medicines, have lock'd up the Infection, which lying dormant some Years, has at last broken out into the highest Degree of the Lues Veneria, to the total Ruin of that Ornament to the Face [the NOSE] and too often the Life of the Patient.
'TIS observable, That the Reliques of a Pox, Clap or any Venereal Infection, not Radically Cured, is the Product of most Stubborn, Chronic and Difficult Maladies, and Proteus-like it transforms it self into many Shapes, for the Venereal Infection, mixing with the Blood, and joyning Forces with Cacochymic Juices, 'tis thereby cast off upon the Principal Parts of Life, so as to cause this or that individual Malady, which is of more Contumacy in some DISEASES, as in Rhumatisms, Gouts, Palsies, Atrophey, Consumptions, King's-Evil, Exostosies, or Rottenness of the Bones, running Gleets, Barrenness, Whites, as also Cancers, and Cancerous Humours falling upon the Breasts of Women, and in the Privy Parts; as also violent Head-achs, Blindness and Corroding Humours in the Eyes, and other Parts of the Body.
Sometimes the Venereal Reliques of a CLAP or POX, not well cured at first, is transmitted by Parents to their Issue, which cause Children who promise well at First, to be short liv'd, and often to break out into grievous sore Ulcers, King's Evil, &c. and other Indispositions, which are never cured, but by such-like proper Antivenerials, which both prevent and cure, as Thousands have found, after all other Means have failed.
Note, That these Antivenereals have not only a Secret Antipathy against all Pocky Enemies to the Vital Agreement, but also to the most inveterare, corroding and cancerous Humours, as appears by the cancerated Breasts of Women, who have been cured thereby, without cutting off: It dissolves all hard Swellings in the Throat, Face, Lips, or any part of the Body, and infallibly cures the King's-Evil, altho' ever so Fistulous, thro' rottenness of the Bones. It cures Fistula in Ano, Ulcers in the Neck of the Bladder, and all Utrine Distempers, which cause Barrenness and other Maladies of the Womb. In short, it restores a good Temperature of Body, whereby perfect Health may be gained to the Prolongation of Life, and Felicity of a most healthful Constitution, without Salivation, Danger of Mercury or Confinement, and for less Charge, and in less Time, and fewer Doses than is usual for the Perfection of a Cure.
